Wordpress 2.5: The Verdict

The milestone Wordpress 2.5 has been released for nearly two weeks now and the final verdict seems to be rather positive. The loudest cheers seem to be regarding the revamped admin interface, designed by the folks at happycog, which is a much needed improvement.

While I’ll agree that the interface is stellar, I think the team at Wordpress could have done a better job of preparing the community for the loss of features (namely the category ID’s), and the invalid XHTML generated by the new “gallery” feature.

I’m quite certain these “bugs” will shake out in release 2.5.1, it’s clear that the major release that 2.5 is, it is just a hair shy of prime time.
